Announcements are created in a course space, but links to their content are also broadcast on the Course Stream and the Recent Activities list on an individual's ELMS-Canvas home page and may be forwarded to student notification devices (like email or text message). Announcements are created by clicking on the Announcements link in the course Navigation menu. Since Announcements are a special form of Discussions, instructors can invite or dissuade students from posting comments to the announcement entry.
NOTE: Students control the receipt of announcements to their personal email or alerts to their mobile devices through Set Up Notification Preferences in ELMS-Canvas. Instructors cannot control this.
