There are circumstances under which a student may request an official name change. Usually, this name change will be uploaded to ELMS-Canvas rosters and reflected there, as well.
However, if a student has manually changed their name in any one of the three name fields in their account profile, the nightly data upload will not override the information in the profile. In such cases, the student should manually update all three name fields: Full Name, Display Name and Sortable Name.
